Yellowstone has one of the most varied wildlife populations in the world . Here are a few pictures taken during our visit to West Yellowstone, MT!

The Grizzly Bear is a very powerful predator and it can weigh as much as 350-600 pounds. Grizzlies are omnivorous, meaning they eat both meat and plants. In Yellowstone they like to eat elk, berries, roots, bison, pine nuts, and grasses.

No where in the Lower 48 states is there more abundant wildlife than in the Greater Yellowstone region. Yellowstone Park is home to the largest concentration of large and small mammals in the lower 48 states. Most of the animals that live in Yellowstone Park also inhabit regions of Grand Teton National Park and the states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.

Bison are the largest mammals in Yellowstone National Park. They are strictly vegetarian, a grazer of grasslands and sedges in the meadows. The Bulls (males) can weigh up to 1,800 pounds and the Cows (females) can weigh up to 1,000pounds.
